Peru: Several dead and injured in a bus crash

At least 20 people were killed, including a four-year-old girl, and 30 others were injured in bus crash accident on a northern slope Peruvianthe authorities announced Thursday.
The bus fell from a height of 100 meters in the remote Libertad district on Wednesday afternoon, according to the local government. Hours passed before the news came, given the remoteness of the area.
The bus was on its way from Taipemba to Trujillo, a journey of 340 km and a duration of 14 hours due to poor roads.
Traffic accidents often occur in Peru due to poor road conditions, speed, and the lack of traffic signs, in addition to the authorities’ lack of strict enforcement of laws.
In November, 10 people were killed when a minibus drove off the road in a jungle in northern Peru.
