Australia asks its citizens to leave Ukraine “as soon as possible”

“Our advice is clear,” Morrison told a news briefing. “This is a dangerous situation. You should seek to get out of Ukraine.”

The warning came after US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who left Australia on Saturday, said Russia could invade Ukraine at any time.

Washington and other countries have urged their citizens to leave Ukraine.

On Friday, the Israeli government announced that it would evacuate the families of its diplomats and embassy staff in Kiev, due to the “deteriorating situation” in this country.

The level of tension between Washington and Moscow has reached its peak since the Cold War, and some US estimates say that about 130,000 Russian soldiers are massing in dozens of combat units near the border with Ukraine.
