4 dead, 7 injured in an explosion in the Somali city of Bosaso
At least four people were killed and seven others injured in an explosion at a restaurant in the northeastern commercial city of Bosaso Somalia Wednesday afternoon.
A police officer told state-run Radio Mogadishu that the suicide bomber was struck in front of a restaurant in the Bosaso shopping center.
The motive behind the recent attack in Puntland state has not been determined.
Local residents said that the security forces launched a massive hunt for the perpetrators of the latest explosion in the town of Bossaso, which was hit by a series of suicide bombings and landmines, including assassinations in the recent past.
No announced group It claimed responsibility for the blast, but Al-Shabab, which is allied with Al-Qaeda and ISIS, has carried out such attacks in the past in Bossaso and elsewhere in Puntland state.
The so-called ISIS wing in Somalia has its main base in the Puntland region and has occasionally clashed with Puntland forces and Al-Shabab.
