Tuchel will be subject to self-isolation, and Chelsea said it is highly expected that the German coach will join the club’s delegation before traveling to Abu Dhabi in the Emirates this week to participate in the Club World Cup.
European champions Chelsea will play against Al Jazira of the United Arab Emirates or Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, the Asian champions, in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi next Wednesday.
If Chelsea qualify for the final, they will remain in Abu Dhabi until February 12.
Chelsea reached the Club World Cup final in their last participation in the tournament in Japan in 2012, but then lost 1-0 to Corinthians of Brazil.
