Extremist Republican congressman starts process to impeach Biden
US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who belongs to the right wing of the Republican Party, on Thursday began the process of trying to impeach President Joe Biden and other members of the Democratic administration.
Taylor Green also wants to oust FBI Director Christopher Wray, Attorney General Merrick Garland, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and District of Columbia Attorney Matthew Graves, he said at a press conference.
“All of them are corrupt, unfit for office and must be removed,” he said.
Republicans have controlled the House of Representatives since January, but not the Senate, so the congresswoman’s initiative should not go ahead, since it is the second chamber that has the power to conduct this type of process.
The congresswoman considered that Biden “compromised national security” with his immigration laws and with the management of the border with Mexico, by depriving border agents and police of the necessary means to do their work.
“This is what the people want and I represent the people. People across the country want them removed from office because the same standards that apply to the public should apply to those who are paid their hard-earned tax dollars.” , concluded Marjorie Taylor Greene.
The congresswoman is known for defending conspiracy theories, insisting on Trump’s victory in the last elections and is a supporter of extremist movements such as QAnon.
