Margarita Sharapova fled Russia after writing one of the country’s first LGBTQIA+ books: “Those like you must be killed!”
Margarita Sharapova is 60 years old and not only an artist but also a writer. She was forced to flee her country specifically because of a book she wrote that was published in 2004.
About 10 years later, both this work and the children’s stories he wrote were banned in Russian territory. Then her life took a big turn.
“They went to make fire at the door of my apartments. They wrote on the walls and doors of my apartments ‘Here lives the enemy’ just because I wrote this book“, said Margarita.
