During the call, they emphasized the historical strategic relationship between the Kingdom and the United States of America, and the importance of strengthening the partnership between the two countries to serve their interests and achieve security and stability in the region and the world.
The Saudi monarch stressed the importance of continuing and strengthening joint security cooperation in the field of combating terrorism and its financing, praising Washington’s commitment to the Kingdom in defending its lands and protecting its citizens and the position of the United States of America by standing by Saudi Arabia and securing its defense needs to enhance joint efforts to maintain its security and the region’s security and stability.
King Salman indicated the Kingdom’s support for the US administration’s efforts to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, and the need for joint action to confront the destructive activities of Iran’s arms in the region, stressing at the same time Riyadh’s keenness to remove all causes of escalation in the region and to continue dialogue.
The Saudi monarch also expressed the Kingdom’s keenness to reach a comprehensive political solution in Yemen, and its quest to achieve security and development for the Yemeni people, referring to the Kingdom’s continuous efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people and the reconstruction of Yemen.
With regard to energy and oil markets, King Salman stressed the importance of maintaining the balance and stability of oil markets, noting the role of the historic OPEC Plus agreement in this, and the importance of preserving it.
