“We are working with our partners in the region and with defense technology development companies in the United States, to develop solutions that will deal with the drones before they are launched,” said the general who oversees US forces in the Middle East.

Regarding reports about the possibility of reclassifying the Houthis as a terrorist organization and the potential impact of such a move, McKenzie said: “I will leave this issue to American diplomats, but I will say that the Houthis are acting recklessly and irresponsibly as they attack the UAE and continue to attack the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

And regarding the killing of the leader of the terrorist organization, Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Quraishi, during a US raid, as part of counter-terrorism efforts in northwest Syria, last Wednesday, McKenzie said: “I think that getting rid of the leader of ISIS makes it difficult for the organization to coordinate its activities around the world.” .
