Arrest warrants against Iraqi security leaders from the judiciary
- The Maysan Investigation Court issued arrest warrants against security leaders due to the deteriorating security situation in the governorate
- The orders included the Director of Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism, the Assistant Director of Police, and the Director of Personal Protection
An investigative court issued Maysan Arrest warrants against security leaders due to the deteriorating security situation in Governorate.
A source told Akhbar Now that “as a result of the deteriorating security situation and the large number of killings, assassinations and clan disputes, the investigation court specialized in integrity issues issued an arrest warrant against the commander of Sumer operations, Lieutenant-General Saad Harbiya, and Maysan Police Director Major General Nasser Latif al-Asadi.”
The source added that the orders also included the Director of Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism, Brigadier Ahmed Abdel Wahed, the Assistant Director of Police, Brigadier General Khyoun Abdel Sahib, the Director of Personal Protection, Brigadier General Hammoud Wadi, and the directors of the Hittin Police Departments, the town and Qala’at Saleh district.
The source indicated that the orders were issued in accordance with the provisions of Article 330 of the Iraqi Penal Code.
