Tunisia.. A young man tried to stab a policeman under arrest
- Police units in Kasserine managed, on Monday, to deliberately arrest a suspect on Thursday for attempting to stab a policeman.
- It was found that the 27-year-old suspect, after escaping, was hiding inside his grandmother’s house, in the Ain Zayan area.
- Security sources ruled out the terrorist suspicion of the operation, and suggested that the suspect was mentally disturbed.
The police units of the National Security District were able to Kasserine And the Anti-Terrorism Security Force, on Monday, arrested a suspect on Thursday for trying to stab a policeman who was carrying out his duties on a security patrol in front of a bank branch in the Sbeiba region of the Tunisian state of Kasserine.
And it turned out that the 27-year-old suspect, after escaping, was hiding inside his grandmother’s house, in the Ain Zayan area, adjacent to Mount Mughila, in the delegation of Sbeiba, in the Wilayat of Kasserine Tunisian.
Security sources ruled out the terrorist suspicion of the operation, and suggested that the suspect was mentally disturbed, and he holds a disability card that proves this.
The sources also stressed that the judiciary will take appropriate measures in this regard, and research is still underway to reveal the circumstances of the operation and verify its nature, whether it was terrorist or criminal.
It is worth noting that the Tunisian Ministry of the Interior announced that one of its perspectives, a policeman carrying out his duties on a security patrol in front of a bank branch in the Sbeiba area of the Kasserine governorate, was subjected to an attempted stabbing with a knife by an unknown person, which failed as a result of the security agent’s response to him. The assailant was forced to lay down his white weapon and flee.
