Ziyech said, in a press statement on the sidelines of the London team’s training in Abu Dhabi in preparation for the Club World Cup, that he will never return to the Moroccan national team, stressing that it is a final decision.
Ziyech explained, “I certainly feel sad, but my current focus is entirely with my team.”
He continued, “It is all clear to me and I am currently concentrating on what I do with Chelsea.”
It should be noted that Chelsea will face, tomorrow, Wednesday, its Saudi counterpart, Al Hilal, for the semi-finals of the Club World Cup in the UAE.
Morocco coach Vahid Halilhodzic had excluded the Chelsea star from the list of players that will compete in the African Cup in Cameroon.
“The cohesion of the group is a fragile issue, and some bad behavior can destabilize it,” Halilhodzic said when asked about the reason for excluding the player.
“There is a good atmosphere right now and I will not allow anyone to spoil that,” he added.
